Angus Robinson has more than 17 years’ experience with technology start-ups – working for media, internet and tele-communcations companies that include M-Tel/MTN; Bell Cablemedia (London); M-Web; the MIH Group; Metropolis/Primedia,; Verticalnet; eCompany; Striata and iTouch in both Business and Product Development and Operations Management roles.
In 2006, Angus started Brandsh Media, a mobile and social media agency to offer a range of content, customer and collaboration-related services to take advantage of the changing nature of the internet and mobile environments. In the ensuing years, the agency quickly grew to a point where it employed more than 30 individuals who shared Angus’ innate curiosity about social media and the ways in which it could be maximized to reach target audiences – and its client list included Standard Bank, Liberty, JSE, M-Net, LoveLife and Seacom.
By 2010, Angus was ready to broaden Brandsh’s horizons and he teamed up with Cambrient and Stonewall+ to create NATIVE – the newly merged full-service digital agency. NATIVE is the biggest digital agency on the African continent and employs close to 140 people.
Angus is also a founding member of the South African Chapter of the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) and is active on the WASPA Code of Conduct Committee and a number of other WASPA subcommittees.
Says Angus: “I’m passionate about the internet, mobile, media and technology industries – with a drive to make it all easier to use…without the hype.”
